"What happened out there?" Matt asked his team, who were crowded around one of the TV monitors back in the lab.
"I can't find anything to explain what happened to the could. It just... disappeared." Peter's fingers tapped on the keyboard and the videotape from on the boat played back. "I guess it's just one of those weird things that happen."
Everyone looked at him, surprised. They didn't know him to give up on anything so soon.
"None of the locals said they sensed anything different around here lately. Nothing has changed to suggest a hoax or some sort of weather anomaly," Lindsay told them what she had found before talking to the locals once more.
"We'll stay here a few more days to see if the cloud or the snakes return," Matt told his team.
"Alright. More time for fun and sun." Peter liked the idea.
Matt smiled. "We could use a vacation, couldn't we?"
"Yes..."
"I'll talk to Elsinger about us all getting some personal time off. But for now, we have to keep our eyes and ears open for signs of the anomaly."
Everyone sighed and went outside to watch the sunset. |
